Candidly Expands AI Financial Guidance to Include Employer Benefits

Nearly 34% of employees fail to claim their full 401(k) match, while average HSA holders leave thousands in potential tax savings on the table. New York-based Candidly is targeting this inefficiency by integrating personalized, benefits-aware financial guidance into its existing AI platform to help workers navigate complex compensation packages.

The platform, which previously focused on student debt and college planning, now offers a holistic view of an employee’s financial health. By analyzing payroll data, benefits enrollment, and specific plan documents, the company's conversational AI, Cait, provides guidance that accounts for retirement contributions, health savings, equity compensation, and debt repayment simultaneously. This approach addresses the difficulty of managing competing financial priorities that draw from the same paycheck.

Laurel Taylor, founder and CEO of Candidly, stated that the technology aims to democratize financial expertise, effectively providing the average worker with a virtual roundtable of specialists. The system utilizes deterministic calculations to map out how individual benefits interact, allowing users to compare scenarios and track progress through interactive dashboards. The service is scheduled to launch for employers this fall, covering nine core capabilities ranging from student debt management to retirement and 529 plan planning.
