Ski-Doo Expands Avalanche Safety Training for 18th Season

For nearly two decades, the program has served as a cornerstone of backcountry education, training more than 30,000 snowmobilers. The initiative emphasizes that survival depends on the group, not just the individual, encouraging riders to attend with their families, friends, and regular riding partners to ensure everyone understands how to recognize risks and respond under pressure.

In partnership with Backcountry Access (BCA), the 2026 season includes over 35 sessions across Canada and the United States. The curriculum blends classroom theory with hands-on practice, teaching participants how to use transceivers, probes, and shovels. Canadian sessions will be led by professional forecaster Marshall Dempster, while U.S. workshops are anchored by veteran educator Mike Duffy. Beyond the live events, the program provides ongoing support through the Ski-Doo Owner Zone and the SLEDucation series, ensuring safety knowledge remains accessible throughout the winter months.
