Greasezilla Scales National Network to Solve Sewer-Clogging FOG Crisis

The Ashland facility serves as a critical link in Greasezilla's push to offload the burden of waste management from municipal sewer systems. While cities have long mandated the use of grease traps to protect pipes, the secondary challenge of processing the millions of gallons of waste collected by haulers has remained largely unaddressed. By implementing a build-own-operate model, the company provides a dedicated destination for grease haulers, effectively creating the landfill equivalent for liquid trap waste.

Strategically located between Richmond and Washington, D.C., the new plant is capable of processing 15 million gallons of FOG annually. The facility utilizes automated receiving bays that allow haulers to offload in under 30 minutes, using SCADA-integrated systems for remote management. Beyond utility, the process avoids chemical additives, instead separating Brown Grease for use as renewable fuel feedstock and diverting remaining materials to composting or anaerobic digestion. With the Ashland hub now active, the company is targeting further expansion across Wisconsin, Louisiana, Texas, Florida, Georgia, and New Jersey to complete its national network.
