Beyond customer feedback, candidates undergo credential checks covering business licensing and insurance, alongside assessments of their performance history. According to Director of Ratings David Pak, the goal is to help businesses compete on service quality rather than price alone, increasing their visibility in search engine results and local market comparisons. For the past 25 years, the organization has operated primarily in California, maintaining a directory that serves over 180,000 preferred members.
