The complaint, filed by law firm Robbins LLP, contends that Baidu management overstated the strength of its AI business to mask significant revenue erosion in its core online marketing segment. While the company frequently touted its AI-powered business as a buffer against market shifts, internal figures eventually revealed a different trajectory. By the second quarter of 2026, the company’s AI Cloud Infra segment had fallen 17% quarter-over-quarter, and overall AI-powered growth decelerated sharply from 49% in the first quarter to 25% by mid-year.
The market reaction to these disclosures was immediate. On February 26, 2026, shares fell 5.65% after the company reported full-year revenue misses. A second, more severe blow occurred on August 18, 2026, when the stock plummeted 12.73% to $90.87 following the release of second-quarter results that showed legacy business revenue had dropped 23% year-over-year. Investors who purchased Baidu securities during the class period—defined as November 18, 2025, through August 17, 2026—may be eligible to participate in the litigation to recover losses.
