Key initiatives emerged from the discussions, including a partnership between Shanghai and UNESCO to establish the Global Innovative Cities Alliance. This platform aims to foster sustainable development and cross-city collaboration. Furthermore, the release of the 2025 World-Class Sci-Tech Journal Directory marked an effort to create a more equitable academic ecosystem by highlighting publications from emerging economies. Benoit Dubuis, president of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences, noted that while exchanges provide a starting point, tangible, trust-based cooperation remains the essential driver for delivering real-world innovation. The forum also introduced 10 landmark basic research questions to guide future strategic planning in complex areas like protein dynamics and quantum error correction.
