Molecular glue degraders represent a significant shift in medicine, offering a way to eliminate disease-causing proteins previously labeled as undruggable. However, the field faces a persistent obstacle: ensuring the degrader removes only the intended target without disrupting closely related proteins. Current methods often rely on trial and error to achieve this precision.
Under this new initiative, Protai will deploy its AI-powered structural proteomics platform to resolve glue-induced ternary complexes by blending experimental data with computational modeling. Standigm will contribute its newly developed STELLA-MGD generative AI, specifically engineered to optimize small-molecule candidates based on those structural findings. The teams plan to execute an iterative cycle of design, synthesis, and validation to transition from serendipitous discovery to a systematic engineering process. This project is supported by the Korea–Israel Industrial R&D Foundation, with backing from the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Israel Innovation Authority.
