Autodesk Unveils Next-Generation Agentic AI for Industry Clouds

At Autodesk University 2026, the software giant previewed a new generation of agentic AI designed to operate across its three core industry clouds: Forma, Fusion, and Flow. This evolution shifts the focus from single-tool assistance to project-wide intelligence that connects data, workflows, and teams to solve complex real-world engineering challenges.

The updated Autodesk Assistant is designed to move beyond simple queries by leveraging project context—such as geometry, physical constraints, and manufacturing history—to identify downstream impacts of design changes. By integrating the AI Orchestrator, the system evaluates different models based on specific task requirements like accuracy and security, rather than relying on a single underlying technology. This approach allows the platform to assist with structural changes in building projects or adjustments in manufacturing workflows by connecting users directly to the precise design and simulation tools required for resolution.

Beyond automated reasoning, the new architecture introduces Personal Pulse, which highlights prioritized issues across active projects, and Assistant Builder, a feature allowing customers to integrate their own specialized agents and third-party services. While the current version of the assistant is already available within existing products, the expanded, cross-platform capabilities are scheduled for a broader rollout in 2027. Autodesk emphasizes that these features remain grounded in professional judgment, with human oversight maintained throughout the decision-making process to ensure data integrity and project safety.
