Herbeaux steps into the role as the company pushes to capitalize on its recent acquisition of peptide specialist AmbioPharm. His mandate includes overseeing the group’s integrated network of 13 facilities across Europe, North America, and Asia, which currently employs roughly 3,500 staff. Before his four-year stint as CEO at Hovione, Herbeaux held senior leadership positions at the specialty chemicals firm Evonik.
Quirmbach will not fully depart the organization, transitioning instead to the roles of Board Member and Senior Advisor. His continued presence is intended to provide strategic continuity as the company navigates its next development stage under the backing of private equity firm Astorg. The transition follows a period of aggressive investment in manufacturing capacity and global footprint expansion for the Basel-based CDMO.
