Catalyst Brands Scales AI-Driven Operations Across Five Retail Chains

Catalyst Brands is deploying WorkJam’s AI-powered frontline platform across its entire retail portfolio, bringing digital scheduling, training, and automated HR support to 70,000 associates. The expansion follows a successful implementation at JCPenney, aiming to unify operations for Aéropostale, Brooks Brothers, Lucky Brand, and Nautica under a single mobile interface.

The rollout integrates WorkJam’s AI Agent directly into the employee workflow, enabling staff to query HR and benefits policies through conversational, on-demand prompts. By embedding these tools within the app already used for shift swaps and wage access, Catalyst Brands expects to reduce administrative friction and minimize time spent away from the sales floor. Managers gain a centralized system for task management and communication, while the company maintains strict governance controls over how AI interacts with sensitive policy data.

Andre Joyner, EVP and Chief Human Resources Officer at Catalyst Brands, noted that the technology is intended to empower the workforce by embedding AI into daily tasks. The company plans to broaden the AI’s capabilities beyond HR, eventually assisting employees with operational queries to streamline store-level execution. This scaling effort reflects a broader strategy to leverage digital tools to improve retention and engagement across the firm’s 1,800 retail locations in North America.
