Scania refines R and S series with new Dynamic efficiency package

The efficiency gains are driven by a series of aerodynamic adjustments, including redesigned A-pillars, new door handles, side skirt extensions, and digital rear-view mirrors. By complying with the latest vehicle dimension legislation, the new front design helps cut air drag, benefiting both combustion-engine and battery-electric models. For operators, this translates to lower fuel or electricity consumption, directly impacting the bottom line.

Inside the cab, the focus shifts to driver retention and safety. Scania has introduced an 800 mm reclining bed, updated seat upholstery, and expanded ambient lighting options. The cabin now utilizes a higher percentage of recycled materials in the wall and ceiling panels. Practical additions, such as a 15 W magnetic wireless phone charger and an external glove hanger tray, address the daily realities of long-haul transport. According to Lars Gustafsson, head of solutions management, these changes are designed to reduce fatigue and provide a more intuitive workspace, ensuring that the truck remains a premium environment for those spending extended hours on the road.
