The firm also launched 'Rongyi Bao,' a long-term critical illness insurance product designed to lower barriers to entry by eliminating health disclosure requirements.
AI deployment has become central to the firm’s infrastructure, with its 'AI Medical Insurance Expert' platform facilitating a 25.6% increase in premiums. Simultaneously, the E-Find clinical trial platform saw revenue grow 26.8% year-over-year, enrolling 1,540 patients during the quarter. Despite rising sales and marketing expenses—up 220.7% compared to the same period last year—Waterdrop posted an operating profit of 111.3 million yuan.
Reflecting its commitment to shareholder returns, the board authorized a new 50 million dollar share repurchase program and approved a cash dividend of 0.03 dollars per American Depositary Share. The company reported a cash position of 2.65 billion yuan as of June 30, 2026, providing a buffer for continued investment in its AI-focused business initiatives.
