Dollar General taps RELEX Solutions for AI-driven supply chain overhaul

Dollar General is deploying the RELEX Solutions platform to overhaul its forecasting, replenishment, and allocation processes across its vast North American network. The retailer aims to integrate demand planning and store-level fulfillment into a single, automated environment to better manage its 21,000-plus store footprint and 18,000 active SKUs.

The implementation will centralize ordering schedules, lead times, and supplier coordination, allowing distribution centers and retail locations to operate from a unified data stream. By incorporating specific sales patterns and demand factors directly into the planning process, the company seeks to improve efficiency across its complex supply chain.

Jeff Vaughan, SVP of Global Inventory Management at Dollar General, noted that the platform provides a practical application for AI, allowing teams to prioritize high-impact issues. Frank Lord, Chief Revenue Officer at RELEX Solutions, added that the software is designed to handle the scale and pace required by Dollar General's extensive distribution network, ensuring reliable planning for large SKU volumes.
