The legal push follows Infantino’s attempt to offload a 20% stake in a FIFA subsidiary tasked with managing marquee events, including the World Cup, for a $4.2 billion valuation. UEFA lawyers filed discovery requests in New York to subpoena Thrive Capital Management, a venture firm established by Josh Kushner, the brother of Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner. The firm was reportedly slated to serve as the anchor investor in the deal.
Additional filings in Florida target records held by FIFA Americas and FWC2026. UEFA representatives contend the scheme was designed to grant Infantino and his associates permanent financial interests in the governing body’s most valuable assets. While Infantino abandoned the project earlier this month following intense backlash from various football organizations, UEFA is now weighing formal charges of criminal mismanagement against him and other senior officials.
