BioVid Debuts Tumor Worlds to Forecast Oncology Market Shifts

Bristol-based consultancy BioVid has introduced Tumor Worlds, a strategic intelligence platform designed to predict how physicians adopt new clinical evidence. By blending behavioral science with proprietary AI, the system aims to move pharmaceutical strategy beyond historical data, starting with non-small cell lung cancer before expanding across the broader oncology portfolio.

The current industry standard relies on retrospective prescription data, a method BioVid CEO Peggy Hirtle describes as looking through a rearview mirror. Tumor Worlds instead maps the sociotechnical forces—including institutional constraints and cognitive heuristics—that govern clinical decision-making. This approach identifies why market adoption accelerates in some segments and stalls in others long before those trends appear in traditional metrics.

According to Meredith Jacobetz, Senior Director of the Oncology Center of Excellence, the platform constructs an actionable model of the environment an asset inhabits. The system is built around four core suites that analyze clinical landscapes, physician networks, psychological drivers, and lifecycle risks. These components are synthesized by CIAIRA, a proprietary AI engine that tracks leading indicators of sentiment across more than 30 tumor types. Following the initial rollout for non-small cell lung cancer, the firm plans to add prostate and pancreatic cancer modules, with a full portfolio expansion scheduled through the remainder of 2026.
