Ellevio reports profit growth amid rising Swedish energy demand

Stockholm-based energy provider Ellevio AB saw net sales climb to SEK 4,948 million during the first half of 2026, up from SEK 4,563 million in the same period last year, as the company ramped up infrastructure investments to support Sweden’s ongoing industrial electrification and low-carbon transition.

The company’s operating profit reached SEK 1,964 million, a notable increase over the SEK 1,783 million recorded in 2025. This financial performance reflects a period of heightened activity, with total electricity distribution rising to 13.8 TWh compared to 12.3 TWh previously. To maintain this momentum, Ellevio pushed capital expenditure to SEK 2,599 million, signaling an aggressive push to modernize its grid assets.

While operating results improved, free cash flow tightened to SEK 534 million from the prior year's SEK 811 million. These figures, released alongside the firm’s regulatory updates, underscore the capital-intensive nature of Ellevio’s mission to serve nearly one million customers across Sweden. The company, backed by pension fund managers including OMERS Infrastructure and the Third Swedish National Pension Fund, continues to focus on large-scale energy system expansion.
