The dividend program targets eligible private passenger automobile policyholders, reflecting a broader shift in the state's insurance landscape. According to Pete Anhalt, president of personal lines at Sentry, the insurer's parent company, the payout and lower base rates are direct consequences of legislative changes signed by Governor DeSantis. These reforms have effectively curbed loss costs, allowing the firm to pass financial relief back to its customers.
Policyholders can expect notification regarding their specific dividend amounts within the coming weeks. For those with an outstanding premium balance, the credit will be applied directly to their accounts. Customers who have paid in full or whose policies have concluded will receive a refund issued through their most recent payment method. Eligible recipients should look for these distributions within 14 to 21 days following their formal notification.
