Brett’s appointment comes as KFC signals a major shift in its operational model. With 70% of transactions now occurring through digital channels, the company is prioritizing the integration of AI to streamline kitchen workflows and improve speed of service. The focus is on leveraging technology to allow restaurant staff to dedicate more time to customer interaction rather than manual processes.
Since stepping into the role in July, Brett has spent his initial weeks embedding himself within the franchise network and restaurant teams to identify where technical improvements can offer the most impact. The company is currently rolling out a suite of modernized tools, including digital kiosks and drive-thru upgrades, to create a more cohesive omnichannel experience. According to the firm, the ambition is to build a scalable digital infrastructure that supports both the employees on the front lines and the franchise partners who manage the daily operations.
