The initiative, titled "25 Hours. One Connected World," kicks off September 24 at 9 a.m. ET. Over the course of the marathon, experts will broadcast from six continents, covering topics ranging from AI safety to family-oriented technology habits. The event serves as a call to action to bridge the global digital divide, where billions of people remain unable to navigate digital services safely despite having online access.
To secure the official Guinness World Record title, the stream must maintain continuous coverage with no breaks exceeding one minute and sustain a minimum of 50 concurrent viewers throughout the duration. According to Tom Ferree, Chairman and CEO of Connected Nation, the marathon is designed to spotlight a systemic problem while demonstrating that closing the digital divide requires active participation from both educators and learners. Participants can join the sessions for free from anywhere in the world, with a full schedule of the partner-led training segments available via the organization’s digital portal.
