The new charging sites are strategically positioned near store entrances to provide a reliable experience for shoppers. Each location typically features 8 to 16 fast-charging stalls capable of delivering up to 400 kW of power. To ensure broad utility, the network supports both CCS and NACS connectors, making it compatible with the majority of electric vehicles currently on the road.
Customers manage their sessions through the Walmart mobile app, with additional payment methods planned as the network scales. Shayne Wahlmeier, Senior Vice President at Walmart Energy, noted that this footprint is designed to make charging more accessible for local communities while serving as a dependable utility for drivers. Adam Happel, General Manager of Walmart Retail EV Charging, emphasized that the company’s priority remains building a consistent and effortless experience that mirrors the convenience of a standard retail trip.
