The Indonesian team, consisting of Arieq Bagus Putradinanti, Dinda Putri Khamisah, Fathan Khoiri N Siregar, Hammam Muhammad, and Mohammad Maghanthis Taqy, triumphed after navigating regional qualifying rounds. They focused their analysis on petroleum datasets, successfully demonstrating the ability to evaluate risk and provide technical recommendations under industry-standard conditions. The University of Louisiana at Lafayette claimed second place, while Hungary's Eötvös Loránd University finished third.
Throughout the event, participants utilized SLB’s Delfi digital platform to manage geological and geophysical data. This year’s competition offered teams the flexibility to work with datasets spanning petroleum, geothermal energy, or carbon capture and sequestration. AAPG President John Casiano noted that the program is designed to bridge the gap between academic study and professional practice, emphasizing the necessity of technical excellence and clear communication in modern geoscience. The event received broad industry backing, with sponsorship from organizations including Aramco, Chevron, and Total.
