Vaughn College Joins North American Conference for Intercollegiate Athletics

The expansion marks a significant milestone for the conference, which has operated for only two years. According to council chair David Cohen, the college’s focus on student development and academic rigor complements the existing mission of the organization. This move grants the college access to national championships and specialized athlete recognition programs governed by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.

Jihad Cesar, director of athletics and recreation at Vaughn, emphasized the importance of regional competition against peer institutions of similar size. The partnership aims to foster a more robust environment for the college’s growing sports programs. Founded in 1932, the private nonprofit institution currently serves over 1,500 students, maintaining a 16-to-1 student-faculty ratio. Recognized as a Hispanic-Serving Institution, it has previously earned national distinction for student upward mobility.
