Recurrent Energy Launches 150MW Carwarp Solar Park in Victoria

The site, which utilizes 243,000 high-efficiency Canadian Solar TOPCon modules, is projected to generate 405 GWh of electricity annually. Beyond energy production, the project aims to reduce carbon output by 227,000 tonnes each year, a reduction equivalent to removing 49,000 internal combustion vehicles from the road. The facility is already grid-connected via the 220 kV Victorian transmission network, with secondary approvals in place to integrate a 120 MW battery energy storage system to further bolster reliability.

Economic and social impact remains a core component of the project’s deployment. The construction phase generated roughly 300 jobs, and the company has established a dedicated community benefit fund managed by Groundswell Giving and the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal. This initiative focuses on environmental projects within the region, specifically targeting support for First Nations communities. Dylan Marx, CEO of Recurrent Energy, noted that the project's early completion highlights the firm's capacity for efficient infrastructure delivery, while Microsoft’s Liz Fitch emphasized that such investments are essential for maintaining the momentum of Australia’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
