The transaction shifts Mountaintop from Monogram’s Fund II into a newly structured vehicle, allowing the private equity firm and the company’s management to maintain their ownership stakes. The move brings in participation from Partners Capital, TIFF, and H7 Capital, signaling strong institutional interest in the specialized beverage manufacturing space.
For Mountaintop, the capital injection serves as a catalyst for a major physical expansion. The company plans to add 250,000 square feet to its Morgantown campus, effectively bringing the facility to a 600,000-square-foot footprint. This capacity growth is intended to keep pace with rising demand for high-protein, functional, and plant-based beverages. CEO Jeff Sokal will continue to lead the firm, maintaining the same board and operational strategy that have defined the company since Monogram’s initial investment in 2021.
Veena Isaac, partner and co-head of Apollo S3, noted that the investment targets a segment where capacity is scarce and specialized assets are difficult to replicate. By extending the investment horizon, the deal provides the firm the flexibility to pursue future acquisitions and cement its status as a primary contract manufacturer for large-scale consumer brands.
