Bond’s transition to Wickes comes as the retailer accelerates its digital and operational evolution. During her time at bp, she oversaw complex business change initiatives, a background that complements her previous 14-year career at Tesco, where she specialized in digital management and process improvement. In a statement regarding her new appointment, Bond highlighted her enthusiasm for returning to the retail industry, citing the unique challenges and opportunities for impact that the sector provides.
This leadership change aligns with a broader push at Wickes to modernize its infrastructure. The company recently launched a pilot of its new unified commerce platform at its Woking branch, a project intended to integrate online and in-store inventory systems. The retailer plans to follow this with a new order management system scheduled for deployment across 2026 and 2027 to improve fulfillment accuracy and simplify customer-facing operations.
