Las Vegas Beyond the Strip: Iconic Reality TV Filming Locations

Las Vegas has long served as an unscripted stage for television, where the city's inherent drama provides a natural backdrop for reality series. From the intimate confines of luxury apartment complexes to the high-stakes floors of iconic casinos, the valley has cemented itself as a permanent fixture in modern pop culture.

The latest addition to this trend is Netflix’s The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, which claimed the Ariva Luxury Residences in Southwest Las Vegas as its primary filming hub during the spring of 2025. Cast members utilized the property’s pools, lounges, and fully furnished residences, turning the high-end complex into a central character for the season. Producers also branched out to local landmarks including the Skyjump at The STRAT and Lake Las Vegas to capture the city’s diverse scenery.

This history of televised production spans decades. The Gold & Silver Pawn Shop on Las Vegas Boulevard became a global phenomenon in 2009 with Pawn Stars, an enterprise founded by the late Richard “The Old Man” Harrison. The shop remains an active business, allowing fans to walk the floor where Rick Harrison and Austin “Chumlee” Russell built their brand. Similarly, MTV’s The Real World transformed the Palms Casino Resort in 2002, housing its cast in a custom-built 3,000-square-foot penthouse that later became a permanent luxury suite.

More recently, Lisa Vanderpump has expanded her influence beyond her restaurant empire. Bravo documented the high-stakes transformation of The Cromwell into the Vanderpump Hotel for the limited series Vanderpump Rules: Lisa Las Vegas. While the city continues to host established productions like Penn & Teller: Fool Us at the Rio and American Ninja Warrior at South Point, the focus has shifted toward capturing the behind-the-scenes evolution of the city's luxury landscape.
