ASUR Reports Mixed July Passenger Traffic Across Regional Hubs

The operator, which manages 16 airports across the Americas, recorded varying performance metrics across its geographic footprint. In Mexico, total traffic fell by 4.0% compared to the same period last year, largely influenced by an 11.5% drop in international passenger volume. The flagship Cancun hub reported a 8.4% overall decrease, reflecting broader regional headwinds in international travel demand.

Puerto Rico’s Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport faced similar pressure, recording a 5.1% decline in total traffic. Both domestic and international segments at the San Juan facility saw consistent contraction throughout the month. Conversely, the company’s Colombian portfolio demonstrated resilience with a 5.8% year-on-year increase. Domestic passenger growth of 7.8% in Colombia proved the primary engine for this regional expansion, helping to offset the stagnating international numbers at the Rionegro airport.
