ETS Unveils Praxis Foundations to Modernize Educator Readiness

The suite addresses a critical gap in traditional teacher training by focusing on behavioral and technical competencies that standard licensure exams often overlook. According to Vince Dean, Associate Vice President of Praxis at ETS, the platform offers a multi-dimensional view that allows faculty and district leaders to target professional learning more effectively and pair new teachers with appropriate mentors.

Praxis Foundations operates through four distinct components: academic content modules for core subjects, a personal skills inventory, simulation-based training for classroom interactions, and an AI assessment tool. This last component specifically measures an educator's ability to reason and apply artificial intelligence within modern learning environments. By integrating these research-backed tools, institutions can move past legacy assessment models to create a more comprehensive profile of a candidate's potential for success in today’s evolving classroom landscape.
