The slump in new vehicle performance brings year-to-date sales to 241,014 units, a 5.6 percent decrease from the first seven months of 2025. The decline was consistent across both the monthly and daily selling rate metrics, as the company faced weaker demand for its truck and SUV lineup. Specifically, the high-volume CX-5 and CX-50 models saw significant pullbacks, dropping 22.3 percent and 15.3 percent respectively.
Despite the broader cooling, certain segments demonstrated resilience. The Mazda3 line saw a notable surge, with sales rising 87.5 percent to 3,903 units for the month. Meanwhile, Mazda Motor de Mexico mirrored the trend of slowing new vehicle movement, reporting 8,847 sales for July, a 10 percent decrease year-over-year. The company noted that the CX-90 MHEV achieved its best-ever July performance, providing a rare bright spot in the otherwise challenging monthly report.
