McHugh’s departure marks the end of a 30-year career in the lottery industry, including 22 years at Scientific Games. Since joining the firm in 2004, he navigated the company through significant technological shifts and the 2022 acquisition by Brookfield Business Partners. To ensure continuity, he will remain with the company in an advisory capacity as Vice Chair during the transition period.
Kevin Schneider, who joined the Scientific Games Board of Directors in 2022 and became Vice Chair earlier this year, steps into the interim role with a background in highly regulated industries. His previous experience includes serving as Chief Operating Officer at Genworth Financial and holding executive leadership positions at GE Capital and GATX. David Nowak, Chairman of the Board, expressed confidence in the transition, noting that Schneider’s deep familiarity with the company’s strategic priorities makes him well-suited to maintain operational momentum while the search for a permanent CEO remains underway.
