Since its 2021 inception, the bank has acted as a primary engine for financial inclusion, bringing 1.2 million previously unbanked citizens into the formal economy. This rapid growth has been matched by significant maneuvers in international capital markets, most notably a USD 350 million bond issuance—the largest ever for a Paraguayan bank.
Institutional backing has proven equally vital to this expansion. The bank secured USD 171 million in new credit facilities, including a USD 20 million commitment from the Development Bank of Austria, earmarked specifically for women-led entrepreneurship and sustainable enterprise. Simultaneously, the eco.business Fund injected USD 20 million to bolster green economy projects, while strategic partner OTP Bank Plc increased its stake in parent company U Holdings by USD 47 million. These combined capital moves have fortified Ueno's balance sheet, providing the long-term liquidity necessary to sustain its trajectory in Paraguay’s evolving financial landscape.
