National Mall Vigil to Mark Anniversary of Virginia Roberts Giuffre

Thousands are expected to gather at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on April 25, 2026, for a "Butterfly Vigil" honoring the late activist Virginia Roberts Giuffre. The one-hour event marks the first anniversary of her death, bringing together survivors, political leaders, and advocacy organizations to continue her fight against exploitation.

The memorial, scheduled from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, is hosted by family members Sky and Amanda Roberts alongside Danny and Lanette Wilson. The gathering serves as both a tribute to Giuffre’s legacy and a call to sustain the global movement she ignited. Organizers have invited attendees to wear butterfly pins and carry flowers, symbols chosen to represent Giuffre’s personal affinity for the insects.

A broad coalition of groups, including the Women's March, UltraViolet, NOW, and the National Women's Law Center, is co-hosting the commemoration. The program features a diverse lineup of speakers, including Representative Jamie Raskin, a dozen fellow Epstein survivors, and various non-profit leaders. Beyond speeches, the First Amendment Troop will perform, utilizing choreography and film to highlight the themes of resilience and justice central to Giuffre's life.

Giuffre’s family described her as a "fearless warrior" whose courage empowered millions to share their own accounts of survival and healing. The event is intended to serve as a platform for ongoing advocacy, with organizers emphasizing that the momentum of her movement remains vital. Journalists planning to attend are required to provide credentials via a designated form to ensure security at the site.
