Beyoncé Assumes Full Ownership of SirDavis Whisky Brand

After a four-year collaboration with Moët Hennessy, Beyoncé has secured complete control over her American whisky brand, SirDavis. The singer, who initially launched the label to honor her great-grandfather, now transitions the company into an independent, woman- and Black-owned enterprise, marking a significant shift in her growing business portfolio.

The split from the LVMH-owned spirits giant comes after a development period that saw SirDavis expand into the US, UK, and Asian travel retail markets. While the financial terms of the buyout remain undisclosed, a spokesperson for the brand confirmed the transition, describing it as the start of an independent chapter for the whisky label. Moët Hennessy, which had partnered with the artist since 2022 to build the brand from the ground up, offered no specific reason for the divestment.

SirDavis, named after the performer’s great-grandfather—a former moonshine producer—blends Southern heritage with production techniques inspired by Scottish and Japanese styles. Beyond its corporate structure, the brand serves as a vehicle for the singer to challenge industry perceptions. Beyoncé has frequently stated her ambition to dismantle the stereotype that fine whisky is exclusively for "old men in smoky bars," aiming instead to introduce the spirit to a broader demographic of women and new enthusiasts. This acquisition sits alongside her other recent entrepreneurial ventures, including the hair care line Cécred and the fashion brand Ivy Park.
