Service Corporation International Posts Q2 Growth, Raises Cash Outlook

Service Corporation International reported second-quarter earnings per share of $0.90, matching prior-year adjusted figures while signaling robust demand in its cemetery segment. The North American deathcare provider confirmed its annual earnings guidance and boosted its cash flow forecast to $1.085 billion, citing stronger preneed sales performance.

Consolidated revenue for the Houston-based company rose 4% to $1.1 billion compared to the second quarter of 2025. While the funeral segment faced a slight 1% dip in services performed, higher average revenue per service helped stabilize core performance. The cemetery division served as a primary growth engine, delivering a 5% increase in comparable revenue driven by trust fund earnings and a 7% jump in preneed property production.

Chairman and CEO Tom Ryan highlighted the company’s capital allocation strategy, which saw $363 million returned to shareholders through dividends and buybacks during the first half of the year. Operating cash flow surged 43% to $238.7 million, bolstered by reduced tax liabilities and effective collection rates on preneed contracts. With the outlook for cemetery receipts improving, the company narrowed its 2026 adjusted earnings per share guidance to a range of $4.10 to $4.30.
