The new deployment functions alongside the club’s existing privacy-first facial authentication, provided by Wicket, and mobile ID verification from Credence ID. Christian Lau, Chief Technology Officer at LAFC, noted that these combined technologies allow guests to complete purchases in seconds, significantly streamlining the stadium experience.
Mashgin’s reach has expanded rapidly, with the company’s technology now active in over 150 sports venues, along with thousands of convenience stores, airports, and university campuses globally. Since the company’s inception, its systems have processed more than one billion transactions. In the calendar year 2024 alone, the platform handled over 440 million transactions, a figure that highlights a sharp rise in demand for frictionless retail environments. According to the company, these deployments have collectively saved customers more than 2,000 years of waiting in line.
