Before the transition, the hospital faced an uncertain future, marked by significant fiscal strain. The shift under St. Luke’s has focused on operational efficiency and aggressive recruitment, adding 76 physicians and 98 nurses to the workforce. These personnel gains are complemented by a $17 million investment in the Epic electronic medical record system, which has streamlined documentation and patient coordination across the network.
Beyond internal operations, the campus is expanding its physical footprint. Construction is currently underway on a $30 million Women’s & Babies Unit, a project aimed at restoring obstetrical services to the community. For the 2,000 staff members at the site, the integration has opened new career pathways across the broader network of 16 hospitals and 350 outpatient locations. Rick Anderson, President and CEO of St. Luke’s, attributed the progress to the collective resilience of the staff, noting that the network’s purchasing power and clinical resources were essential to reversing the previous year's deficit. The campus now sits on a trajectory toward a positive bottom line, mirroring the success of previous network integrations in the region.
