The platform, which grew out of research at the University of Oxford’s Computational Health Informatics Lab, creates a structured medical history by converting everyday patient inputs into actionable data. Co-founder Dr. David Clifton developed the underlying models to track disease progression using longitudinal data, a move intended to address the high costs associated with chronic illness management in the United States, estimated to reach $47 trillion over the next 15 years.
Mirae operates by allowing patients to describe symptoms and behaviors in plain language, which the AI then synthesizes into a clinical record. For doctors, this provides a longitudinal view of a patient’s health, moving away from fragmented notes toward evidence-based decision-making. CEO Anuj Patel emphasizes that the goal is to democratize access to high-quality care, ensuring that geography does not dictate a patient's treatment outcomes. The company is currently testing this model within a major U.S. health system to refine its diagnostic accuracy and clinical integration.
