Under the new agreement, Scientific Games will oversee the entire lifecycle of instant games, from initial design and planning to retail execution. The partnership incorporates the proprietary Infuse business intelligence platform, which provides the analytical framework to refine game offerings and optimize prize structures. Steve Waymire, Director of the Iowa Lottery, noted that the transition allows the organization to apply over five decades of industry expertise to its local operations, ensuring more consistent funding for veterans, education, and law enforcement programs.
The collaboration extends beyond game development to modernize how Iowans interact with the lottery. Plans include a significant overhaul of the mobile app, website, and player support tools to create a seamless loyalty experience across all channels. John Schulz, President of Americas & Global Instant Products at Scientific Games, emphasized that the model relies on balancing creative output with rigorous data science to drive sales. Having worked with the Iowa Lottery since its 1985 inception, Scientific Games currently manages the state's gaming systems and point-of-sale technology, positioning this expansion as a logical step in their long-standing industrial partnership.
