While the public event is currently sold out, the Smithsonian is maintaining a waitlist for those wishing to attend the panel discussion. The evening will examine her transition from a Hollywood film star to the Princess of Monaco, focusing on her philanthropic efforts and her foundational support for the performing arts.
Beyond the panel, the installation of the swan benches serves as a permanent fixture on the National Mall. These replicas, rooted in the collection of Smithsonian Gardens, are accompanied by the planting of the Princess Grace rose, a blush-pink variety intended to provide a space for reflection. To commemorate the occasion, the Embassy of Monaco has also commissioned a limited-edition philatelic issue featuring the swan and rose motifs. The tribute arrives during a significant year for the Principality, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of its embassy in Washington and the broader America250 initiatives.
