Investors Face September Deadline in Avis Budget Group Class Action

Investors who held Avis Budget Group securities between February 20, 2025, and April 21, 2026, have until September 29, 2026, to join a class action lawsuit. The litigation targets alleged market manipulation involving Pentwater Capital Management, which reportedly leveraged a 51% economic interest to trigger a massive, volatile short squeeze.

The complaint, filed in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, alleges that Avis and specific executives failed to disclose material information, violating federal securities laws. Central to the case is the claim that Pentwater Capital Management engaged in aggressive stock purchases that fueled an artificial surge in Avis shares. The stock climbed from an opening price of $147.52 on April 1, 2026, to an intraday peak of $765.94 by April 21—a 419% increase—before cratering 74.51% to close at $182.005 just one week later.

Kahn Swick & Foti, LLC, led by former Louisiana Attorney General Charles C. Foti, Jr., is currently representing investors seeking recovery for losses incurred during this period. Those who suffered financial harm may contact managing partner Lewis Kahn at 1-833-538-3666. While the September 29 deadline applies to those wishing to be appointed as lead plaintiff, the firm notes that investors do not need to hold this role to participate in a potential future recovery.
