Jack and Jill of America Opens Baltimore Convention to Public

The week-long gathering, themed "Assembled in Purpose, Charting the Course, Launching Leaders," begins with "The Power of Us" town hall on July 21. Emceed by CNN anchor Laura Coates and hosted by National President Darlene McGhee Whittington, the session will recognize local pillars such as Morgan State University and the American Red Cross, featuring a performance by violinist Demola. A second public event, the Community Health & Resource Fair, follows on July 25, offering wellness screenings and financial literacy tools to Baltimore families.

Beyond these public sessions, the convention serves as a hub for leadership development and cultural enrichment. The schedule includes a teen summit sponsored by Morgan State University, STEM programming via the Medtronic Mobile Lab, and contributions from figures like April Ryan, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and musical acts SWV and Dru Hill. Attendees will also tour local sites, including Keystone Korner and various historical landmarks, to engage with the city’s heritage. Supported by corporate partners such as PNC, JPMorgan Chase, and Google, the convention aims to extend the organization's mission of service and youth excellence into the broader Baltimore community.
