The new bundled offering combines The DUST Test's PCR-based dust screening with Mosaic Diagnostics' MycoTOX Profile, a urine assay designed to detect mycotoxins. By examining the home environment and the body’s internal toxic burden simultaneously, the companies hope to provide practitioners and patients with a clearer correlation between indoor mold species and clinical symptoms. This dual-testing approach targets issues like fatigue, brain fog, and chronic inflammation, which are often difficult to trace to a specific environmental origin.
Michael Rubino, co-founder of The DUST Test, noted that environmental and clinical testing have historically operated in separate silos. This partnership attempts to unify these data streams, allowing for more precise health management. To support this objective, The DUST Test has established an Institutional Review Board to collect and evaluate correlation data, aiming to advance scientific research into how home environments impact long-term wellness. Mosaic Diagnostics CEO Scott Mattivi added that the initiative is designed to help patients take an active role in identifying unrecognized exposures that may be driving complex, chronic conditions.
