Teamsters Local 135 Walk Out at Vestis Indianapolis Facility

Twenty-nine route sales representatives and support staff at Vestis in Indianapolis launched an unfair labor practice strike today, citing company intimidation and persistent failures to bargain in good faith. The walkout follows allegations that management threatened employees for exercising protected rights guaranteed under the National Labor Relations Act.

Dustin Roach, President of Teamsters Local 135, condemned the company’s decision to hire temporary replacement workers rather than addressing the core labor disputes. According to the union, management has attempted to push a nearly cost-neutral contract while actively penalizing staff for engaging in protected concerted activity. Jay White, a 10-year veteran and chief steward, stated that the workforce remains committed to the picket line until the company ceases its current labor practices and offers terms that reflect their daily contributions. The strike represents a direct challenge to the company's negotiation strategy, which the union characterizes as a deliberate avoidance of fair compensation and benefit discussions.
