The new card carries no annual fee and features a streamlined approval process, allowing users to apply in minutes. Beyond basic credit access, the partnership incentivizes health-related spending by providing 25% off initial purchases, 2% back within the Mundo Simi ecosystem, and up to 10% monthly rewards on pharmacy transactions. The card is accepted at any merchant, though it is specifically optimized for use across the chain’s 11,000 locations.
Víctor González Herrera, Executive President of Farmacias Similares, and Stori co-founder Marlene Garayzar introduced the product at the SimiCasa Museum in Mexico City. For Stori, which counts over 5 million existing users, the move represents a broader strategy to embed financial services within high-frequency consumer brands. By leveraging the reach of the Dr. Simi brand, the companies aim to convert a traditionally excluded demographic into active participants in the formal economy, framing the card as a necessity for managing medical costs rather than a vehicle for debt.
