InventHelp Inventors Propose Jet Engine Bird-Strike Guard

Two Birmingham-based inventors have designed a protective cover for jet engines aimed at mitigating the risks posed by bird strikes during flight. By filtering intake air while blocking debris, the device seeks to enhance aviation safety for commercial airliners and other aircraft manufacturers through an automated, aerodynamic mechanism.

The inventors, who submitted their design to the Birmingham office of InventHelp under reference BTK-441, claim the cover ensures only clean air enters the turbine, effectively preventing flocks of birds from causing engine damage. The system emphasizes ease of installation, targeting passenger carrier manufacturers who require reliable, low-maintenance safety upgrades for their fleets.

InventHelp is currently facilitating licensing and sale opportunities for the concept. Interested manufacturers can review a prototype and technical documentation for the device by contacting the company’s Pittsburgh headquarters.
