The platform, known as Asset Panda Pro, centralizes management for everything from hydraulic rescue tools and SCBA cylinders to medical gear and station inventory. By digitizing inspection workflows, the system allows fire departments to enforce standardized protocols across all crews. This transition from reactive tracking to proactive management is intended to reduce administrative burdens while lowering liability exposure for municipal agencies struggling with evolving safety standards.
Integration with the proprietary Ursa AI allows personnel to query equipment data through conversational prompts, turning fragmented records into actionable insights. The software explicitly targets compliance with NFPA 1851, 1852, and 1911, which govern the lifecycle and maintenance of protective ensembles and emergency vehicles. According to CEO Rex Kurzius, the goal is to ensure that tools are vetted and ready before crews are dispatched to emergencies. President Justin Lackey noted that as fire service leaders face mounting pressure to justify budget requests with fewer administrative resources, such digital systems provide the necessary documentation for long-term capital planning and accountability.
