Florida Cancer Specialists Opens Expanded Sarasota Pavilion

Occupying 60,000 square feet within the Milman-Kover Cancer Pavilion, Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute has unveiled its new downtown Sarasota center. The facility, located at 1941 Waldemere Street, marks a substantial increase in local capacity for oncology services, including specialized immunotherapy treatments and expanded infusion capabilities.

The new site offers a significant footprint increase of over 40,500 square feet compared to the previous Sarasota office. This expansion facilitates the addition of eight exam rooms and 32 infusion chairs, bringing the facility’s total to 27 exam rooms and 80 infusion chairs. According to Dr. David Wenk, the center is designed to prioritize patient comfort while maintaining a collaborative environment for integrated care.

Beyond physical space, the location introduces broader access to advanced procedures such as bispecific therapy, an immunotherapy designed to assist the immune system in targeting cancer cells. A team of seven board-certified medical oncologists and hematologists, including Dr. Luis Chu and Dr. Elizabeth Guancial, will lead treatment efforts at the site. The clinic operates as part of the broader Sarasota Memorial Health Care System campus, aiming to streamline the delivery of precision oncology and clinical research trials to the local community.
