In a TikTok video posted following her departure, Keyser claimed the footage is six years old and captured her singing along to the Roddy Ricch song, The Box. She told viewers the slur is no longer part of her vocabulary and stated she does not support racism or discrimination. Her father also stepped in to defend her character, describing his daughter as an educated sweetheart raised in a diverse environment, though his comments were met with skepticism by fans who argued that upbringing does not preclude personal bias.
Public reception to the apology has been largely negative, with many viewers dismissing the statement as scripted or AI-generated. The scrutiny intensified due to Keyser’s behavior during a villa challenge where she declined to kiss Black contestants Corbin Mims, Sincere Rhea, and KC Chandler, leading some to question her conduct toward men of color. Keyser is the second contestant this season removed for past use of racial slurs, following the pre-season exit of Vasanna Montgomery.
