FRCF Opens Public Nominations for 2026 Roll Call of Heroes Ceremony

For the first time in its history, the First Responders Children's Foundation is inviting the public to nominate local heroes for its annual Roll Call of Heroes ceremony. The event, scheduled for October 28 in New York City’s Times Square, honors the service and sacrifice of personnel nationwide.

As the foundation marks its 25th anniversary, the 2026 ceremony gains added weight by coinciding with the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and America’s 250th birthday. President and CEO Jillian Crane noted that the organization aims to transform the day into a nationwide movement of gratitude. The foundation, which originated in the aftermath of the 2001 attacks, continues its mission of providing scholarships, mental health support, and financial assistance to the families of those serving on the front lines.

Nominations remain open through July 31, 2026, for individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary impact within the last year. Eligible disciplines range from 911 dispatchers and law enforcement to fire services and natural disaster response teams. Selected honorees will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City for a VIP experience, culminating in an on-stage recognition at Duffy Square. T-Mobile returns as the presenting partner, with support from organizations including SERVPRO and the Times Square Alliance.
