Westcliff University Launches Scholarship Named for Arabian Prince

A founding member of the seminal hip-hop group N.W.A. is lending his name to a new academic award at Westcliff University. The Arabian Prince Community Impact Scholarship will debut this weekend, offering a $10,000 grant to students who bridge the gap between creative innovation and local service.

The announcement coincides with the university's 2026 commencement ceremony on June 27 at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa. During the event, nearly 2,773 graduates from over 130 countries will gather to hear from speakers including U.S. Representative Dave Min and WSCUC president Dr. Maria Toyoda. The scholarship itself is designed to mirror the career trajectory of Arabian Prince, who transitioned from music to a multifaceted career in technology, gaming, and STEM advocacy.

Beginning in the 2026–2027 academic year, the award will support a student from any of the university's five colleges. According to Westcliff University President and CEO Dr. Anthony Lee, the goal is to reward those who transform ideas into action, fostering a culture of social responsibility alongside professional success. Arabian Prince noted that the partnership aims to highlight students who use their knowledge to expand opportunities for others, reinforcing the university's mission to produce graduates who contribute to their communities beyond their chosen fields.
